Etimologija: pallidus (lat.) = blijed, bezbojan. Po boji.

Plodno tijelo: 1-15 (25) cm široko i 1-2 mm debelo, posve je prileglo na supstrat, razrašteno, čvrsto je srašteno s podlogom, formira tanke plahtice voštanog izgleda; bjelkasto, sivkasto, kremasto, žućkasto ili okerasto, površina je glatka ili sitno bradavičava i kvrgava, jako se raspucava, rub je primjetno maljav, kod mladih je plodišta rastresen.
Spore: Valjkaste, izdužene, glatke, s uljnom kapljom, prozirne, 9-10 x 3-5 µm; otrusina je bijela.
Meso: Sočno, voštano, bjelkasto je ili žućkasto, tanko; miris i okus nisu izraženi.
Stanište: Raste tijekom godine kao saprofit krupnijih drvnih ostataka raznog crnogoričnog drveća bez kore, često bora ili smreke, a rjeđe na drvnim ostacima bjelogoričnog drveća, obično topole.

Status jestivosti: NEJESTIVA - Nejestiva je vrsta.
Napomena: Naša opisana vrsta može se zamijeniti s kožnatožutom nitozupkom (Hyphodontia alutaria). Međutim, spomenuta se vrsta mikroskopski značajno razlikuje po tome jer ima lagenocistide i njezine su spore veće (5-6 x 4-4.5 µm).
